ThruWay League Cup Update

News Update Regarding ThruWay League Cup

A message from the Board of Directors of the ThruWay League Cup. Scheduling has been postponed due to the addition of teams from the Upstate Premier League.

Below is the explanation for the delay in Scheduling of the ThruWay League Cup

Empire United Soccer Academy (the merged entity of the former Buffalo United SC, Rochester Junior Rhinos, Syracuse FC, and Crown City FC) have decided to withdraw their 64 teams from the Upstate Premier League and enter them into the Thruway League Cup. This action will leave the Upstate Premier League with an insufficient number of teams to operate, and the 2010 season will need to be cancelled. All other registered teams for the UPL have an opportunity to register for the TWLC by Friday February 5th.

In 2008 we set out to form the best Premier League in Upsate NY, Albany to Buffalo and Binghamton to Elmira. With the addition of the Empire United teams and others from the UPL, we will now host the most competitive league with all the top clubs from Upstate NY. We are very excited to see the level of soccer during the 2010 season.

All the teams who are registering for the ThruWay League Cup from the UPL have until Friday February 5th to do so. I appreciate all the teams who were prompt in getting the Registration Form and Team Availability Calendars to me by the January 9th Deadline. Thanks for being patient with the delay in scheduling. If you have any additional questions don't hesitate to contact the League President Jeff Knittel at jeffknittel@hotmail.com.
